Prof. A. Mirshafiey received his BSc and MSc degrees in Biology and Medical Mycology in 1979 and 1982, respectively and his PhD in Immunology from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1990. He took additional academic training at Tokyo University (Japan), Lund University and Karolinska Institute in Sweden. He has been the recipient of Avo Sina Scientific award in 1999, 2002, 2012, 2016 in Tehran. His innovation, entitled “M2000”, as a novel designed NSAID has been patented in Germany [DE 102 47 073. 1] in 2010. He serves as the Head of Department of Pathobiology in Tehran University of Medical Sciences. His research focuses on Inflammation, Immunopharmacology, Design of anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive drugs. In particular, he is interested in immunopathogenesis and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.
Published papers: More than 157 papers in scientific international journals, and 148 published papers in PubMed. He has been introduced as a distinguished researcher in the level of international in writing review articles in the field of Multiple sclerosis.
