Malihe Masomian is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Microbial Biotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia where she worked on crystallization and structure elucidation of a thermostable enzyme. She successfully invented a Method for removing affinity tags without using protease treatment which is currently patented and embedded in her group's experiments. After her Ph.D., she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow where she extended her research area to include enzyme thermal stability studies via structural biology, microbial biodegradation of crude oil and pharmaceutical enzyme engineering. Currently, she is collaborating on different research projects funded by Universiti Putra Malaysia and Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia. Along with her research, she is an active member of the Enzyme and Microbial Technology Research Centre (EMTech), UPM.
