Born in Brescia in 1949, I graduated in Pavia and specialized in Pediatrics, Hematology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Married, I have a son. I won a national award for my research on pediatric AIDS. Currently I am Chief of Pediatric Department, including Immunology and Allergy Unit and Director of the post-graduate school of Pediatrics and of Master in Pediatric care of outpatients in Rome, Sapienza University. My current main fields of interest are the ontogeny of immune system in newborns, rare allergies and immunodeficiencies.I have always worked in the University: first at Pavia, then Brescia, L'Aquila and finally at Rome, where I am full professor of Pediatrics. I published more than 200 papers in indexed journals.
