I was born on September 1961 in Leoben, Austria. After my school leaving examination in 1980, I started with the biology study in Graz and finished my doctoral study 1990. From 1989 until 1997, I was employed as research assistant at the former Institute of Plant Physiology, where I received my habilitation in November 1997. To that time, I started also with the supervision of diploma students, master students and PhD students and until now, I supervised about 220 theses. I like teaching (in the studies of biology, molecular biology and biology and environmental sciences for teachers) and the scientific work with my students very much.
Research interests:
Stress and cell biology of plants, biotic and abiotic stresses of plants, microscopy and physiology of plants (model plants and agricultural plants).
