Mário Lopes holds a PhD in Physiotherapy from the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto, and has worked as a physiotherapist in the field of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and in sports (football, futsal and rugby) since 2000. He is an Assistant Professor in the Physiotherapy Licentiate Degree at the School of Health Sciences, University of Aveiro having supervised several Licentiate projects and Master’s degree theses. He has published articles in his research interests in the fields of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and injury prevention in sports in refereed journals, has published a book chapter and has reviewed articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Physical Health and Sports Medicine and his research interests are in the field of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and injury prevention in sports.
