Sara Bozzini is graduated in Biology Experimental and Applied Biology and has received PhD in Internal Medicine and Medical Therapy. She is currently a PhD researcher at the department of internal medicine and medical therapy at the University of Pavia. She has reached ability to perform the main molecular biology techniques. The research lines involved in the genetic analysis (PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing in Sanger, PCR real time) of SNPs in genes involved in the pathophysiological process related to the predisposition to ischemic cardiopathy, and especially in inflammation. In addition, she is involved in studying possible epigenetic alterations that may be implicated in cardiovascular diseases and in particular the different expression of miRNAs. She also deals with genetic alterations, different protein expression and plasma levels of biomarkers in IBD, depression and CFS. She has also been involved in clinical trials involving hypertension, pain sensitivity in silent ischemia and vascular disease.
