My area of research interest is drug discovery and development from natural products and traditional medicines. I am engaged in diverse research areas with knowledge of pharmacology, natural product chemistry, biotechnology and pharmacognosy. I have extensively worked and published in the areas of pharmacological evaluation of isolated natural products for antimicrobial, antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory activity using in vitro and in vivo models and growth inhibitory activity against pathogenic bacteria, phytochemistry, food technology and nutrition, ethnopharmacology, fingerprinting and standardization of marker compounds in medicinal plant products and dietary supplements, optimization of large scale extraction, isolation and characterization of natural products of commercial value, bioactivity guided fractionation. I am also working on in vitro multiplication for endangered plants, bioconversion of secondary metabolites using plant pathogenic bacteria and fungi and their pharmacological screening.
