Bijan Abadi is an assistant Prof. at the University of Maragheh. Iran. He received his PHD in agricultural Extension and education from the University of Shiraz, Iran, 2008-2013. His research interests are agricultural development, agricultural sustainability, the optimal use of agricultural inputs, soft systems in agriculture, and medicinal plants cultivation. After his graduation, he involved in research and teaching. He authored the book “Cognition and Thinking of Sustainable Agricultural Extension and rural Development”. Moreover, he published articles in the Azarian Journal of Agriculture and Iranian Agricultural Extension and Education Journal, and Rangeland Ecology and Management. He was a chief executive of the research project, aiming at investigating how environmental NGOs play a role in changing farmers’ water use behavior to revive the ecosystem of the Urmia Lake. So far, he is a chief executive of the research project to examine how to extend the cultivation of medicinal plants in agricultural systems.
