Biography

I am a lecturer in engineering at Lancaster University, a chartered engineer and a fellow of the HEA. I am the Deputy Admissions Director and Internationalisation Coordinator for the Engineering Department. In this latter role, I coordinate International Teaching Partnerships (in China, India and Pakistan), Strategic Research Partnerships and international collaborations in Asia, Africa and the Middle East and elsewhere globally. I am also the Director of the international partnerships within Engineering for COMSATS in Pakistan (Lahore campus) and GDGWI in India and am primarily responsible for quality assurance of the programmes delivered there. I am also the programme director for the MSc in International Innovation (engineering pathway) which is part of the Lancaster China Catalyst Programme, which aims to develop partnerships between UK companies with commercial partners in China. I am course convenor on a first year module, ENGR119: Design, Innovation and 3D Thinking, and a fourth year/MSc module, ENGR411/511: Advanced CAD/CAM, and co-teach another module: ENGR404/504: Mechanics and Actuators. I am also on the Operations team for the Materials Science Institute at Lancaster University.

Material characterisation, numerical modelling including FEA, CFD and FDM, advanced manufacturing including additive manufacturing and laser processing, development of biomedical technologies.
