Dr. Sia is a graduate of both Dentistry and Medicine and holds the position as the Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Gullas Medical Center – University of the Visayas and a Consultant in Oral-Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City, University of Cebu Medical Center, Chong Hua Hospital Group and Cancer Center, and the Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines. Currently, he holds the position as Vice President of the Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine at Cebu Doctors’ University. He was appointed as the International Relations Officer for the Philippines of the Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and the editor-in-chief of the EMS Otolaryngology Journal; an honorary editorial board member of various journals in Otorhinolaryngology, Surgery, Dentistry & Oral Health Journal, Oral Biology, Biomedical Research, and Integrated Medical and Clinical Case Reports.
Dr. Sia completed his dental degree at the Cebu Doctors’ University, medical degree at the University of the Visayas, Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Surgery, and Master’s Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Clinical Fellowship grant by Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur Osteosynthesefragen (AO) Craniomaxillofacial Foundation at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. He is a Fellow of the International and Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantology’s, Philippine Academy of Head and Neck Surgery Inc., and International College of Continuing Dental Education.
Active member of the International College of Maxillofacial Surgery, International Academy of Oral Oncology, and International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation.
Research interest includes Regenerative and Reconstruction techniques in Maxillofacial region, Bone Grafting, Biomaterials and Growth Factors, Orthognathic Surgery, Cleft Surgery, Pharmacology, and Quality of life in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery patients.
