As an orthopaedic surgeon, I bring over 40 years of clinical, surgical and research experience in the field of hand and upper extremity surgery. I have been in practice since completing my fellowship training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City in 1976.
Currently, I hold the rank of Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine, where I served as the Director of the Hand Fellowship Program at the University from 2002 to 2014. Prior to my appointment at UPMC, I was director of the Hand Fellowship Program at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
My research interests have been focused on wrist arthritis, metacarpophalangeal joint replacement, distal radius fractures and hand transplantation.
We are now conducting a clinical research study on the use of autologous placental tissue to aid healing of rotator cuff repairs.
