History

The patient attended me the day before scheduled surgery (resection of the forefoot). The diagnosis was only focusing on smoking habits without an angiogram, which about three month later showed no peripheral vascular disorder. Instead, the gangrene was contraception pill related. The treatment locally to force reduction of the inflammation and additionally systemically to support the healing progress by RBCs ‘ATP delivering carelessly healed the gangrene up.

To learn the lesson

We are more lizard like than we expect. Abscess formation of the left axilla. Due to a abscess in an eccrine sweat gland the patient underwent surgery which left a children’s’ fist size hole. With the treatment mentioned above the wound primarily healed up within about three months.
